TL DR Old player who wanted the game to go in a creative direction, instead got more grinding for power rank. of course youtube is filled with plenty of information for you to get in depth knowledge about the game and the classes and the gems and the dragons and the delves and the geodes and the ramps and the and the and the. OF course there will always be your meta classes better at this or better at that but at the end, MOST classes are end game viable so you can play whatever looks the coolest to you. So in summary, really good MMO with good RPG classes and goals. Do you wanna spend 20 total hours farming these items or pay $50? Do you want to wait for once every 7 days to get the top level gems or do you wanna pay $300 per character for a CHANCE at some gems? oh yea cause most of the stuff you can get with real money (resources, not main stuff like classes and mounts) are chests that you can roll for a favorable chance at getting it. The only thing that paying real money helps with in this game is speeding up things.

It is proven that this game is very playable free to play, it just takes many many hours. So if you are looking for an MMO that is going to make you feel like your kinda close to end game after 30 hours played then this is not your game. Although loot 2.0 and expansion pack was detrimental for the games existence, it was also shifted for much much faster progression. and for the record i have over 7k hours in d3. A great example was Diablo 3 on release vs now. and it is clear that the OG concept of an mmorpg and the time/patience needed has faded. Heres the problem though: in the past 15 years I have seen so many MMOs and RPGs watered down to cater the newer crowds getting into this genre. But I think this is why its considered an actual GOOD mmo. I am not considered END GAME with 840hrs played and every character at max level. It would literally take you maybe a year of playing every day straight to consider yourself somewhat late game. Trove does deeper than most mmo rpgs in regards to stats and achievements/goals.
Kind of like the minecraft crafting benches, Trove has them, like a million of them.
You either get your home plot a little piece of land that you "spawn" your home or "cornerstone" in and there you will have all your benches and your own build home. This does not take away from the variety of things you can do in building modes. Nothing of the sorts of minecraft redstone. If you like to build this gives you OK options. Now to be fair this is true for most good mmos you find awesome people that help you get started and quickly find out most good people are helpful, this is true in trove as well. Very quickly you find out that the only similarity with Trove and Minecraft is the voxel art and home/base/clubhouse building.įundamentally it follows the classic MMORPG paths with a really good variety of classes to play and although individual farming for mid-lat gamers tends to be more efficient alone (aside from bosses), the community in this game is MASSIVE and is really ultimately what gets you addicted to it. A lot of people (myself included) got to this game for the "looks like minecraft" looks.
